Make sure that your site is indexed

Having your pages indexed by Google is fundamental to appearing in search results. If your pages aren't indexed, they won't show up in searches, no matter how well-optimized they are. Regular indexing checks help identify potential technical issues preventing your content from being discovered and ensure your SEO efforts aren't going to waste.

Instructions:

Make Sure That Your Site Is Indexed

  • 1
Check Indexing Status: Go to Google Search and type
    site:yourdomain.com
    . Replace
    yourdomain.com
with your website's URL. This will show all indexed pages.
  • 2
Submit Your Website to Google: If your site is not indexed, submit it using Google Search Console:
    1. Log In to Google Search Console Access your account at Google Search Console.

    2. Use the URL Inspection Tool Enter the URL of the page you want to check. If it’s not indexed, click 'Request Indexing'.

  • 3
Ensure Crawling Is Allowed: Verify your
    robots.txt
file does not block search engines. Check for a
    noindex
directive in your meta tags or HTTP headers.
  • 4
Check Sitemap Submission: Ensure your sitemap is submitted and up-to-date in the 'Sitemaps' section of Google Search Console.
  • 5
Monitor Indexing Progress: Use Google Search Console's Coverage report to track indexed pages and address any errors or warnings.
